Tomi was born in Japan and graduated from Osaka College of Music as a percussion major and later moved to Los Angeles in 1984. Tomi started his career as a sound designer on features, television shows and commercials and has been working on games for the past 15 years.

He most recently worked on several major game titles, such as, Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty, Final Fantasy 14.5 Shadow Bringers, Resident Evil 6, Valorant, and Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn,. Film credits include the recently released Transformers One and the Oscar winning Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio. His television credits include 15 years on Star Trek shows, and several seasons on NCIS. Tomi has been honored with an Emmy and three Golden Reel awards throughout his career.

Tomi is fluent in both Japanese and English.
