Mikolai Stroinski

Composer

Multi award-winning composer Mikolai Stroinski was born in Kenya, raised in Poland,

and lives and writes music in Los Angeles.

Magna cum laude graduate of Karol Szymanowski Music Academy and summa cum laude graduate of Berklee College of Music (Outstanding Achievement in Film Scoring), Mikolai’s film scores include Poland’s first full-length animation feature ‘Diplodocus’ (Human Film), a magical adventure comedy written and directed by Wojtek Wawszczyk, inspired by the 1980’s comic books of Tadeusz Baranowski. Premiering at the 2024 Annecy International Animation Film Festival and Cannes Film Festival, ‘Diplodocus’ will release worldwide in theatres Fall 2024.

Mikolai has scored and composed music for TV programs on CBS, NBC, ABC, FOX, Discovery Channel, History Channel, HBO, SyFy Channel, and his work is broadcast worldwide. His credits include the Netflix animated war drama series ‘The Liberator’

created and written by Jeb Stuart (‘Vikings: Valhalla’), the HBO production ‘Bez Tajemnic’ (‘In Treatment’), a series directed by Agnieszka Holland (director of ‘The Killing’ and ‘House of Cards’) as well as ‘Paradoks’ and ‘Zbrodnia,’ both series produced by Oscar-winning Opus Film, the Golden Globe-nominated production house (for the film ‘Ida’).

In addition to his film and TV music, Stroinski is acclaimed for his work in video games, scoring several entries of CD Projekt RED’s ‘The Witcher’ fantasy RPG series based on the novels by Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski, including ‘The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt’, ‘The Witcher 3: Blood and Wine’ and ‘Gwent: The Witcher Card Game’. One of his most challenging and provocative scores for a video game, ‘Metamorphosis’ (Ovid Works), a surreal interactive adventure inspired by the Expressionist writings of Frank Kafka, received the Society of Composers and Lyricists’ Award for Outstanding Original Score for Interactive Media.

Mikolai’s diverse scoring assignments encompass a wide spectrum of artistic sources and genres including the dark fantasy FPS ‘Witchfire’ (The Astronauts), the massively multiplayer online action RPG ‘Diablo Immortal’ (Blizzard Entertainment/NetEase), ‘League of Legends’ (Riot Games), ‘Age Of Empires 4’ (Relic Entertainment/Microsoft), ‘Bee Simulator’ (Varsav Game Studios), and the mystery horror, ‘The Vanishing of Ethan Carter’ (The Astronauts). Receiving critical acclaim worldwide, ‘Ethan Carter’ won Best Audio at the 14th Annual Game Developer Choice Awards and a nomination for Outstanding Achievement in Original Music Composition at the 18th Annual Academy of Interactive Arts and Science DICE Awards.

Previously, he scored the interactive noir story Nobody Wants To Die (Critical Hit Games/PLAION), set in a dystopian New York in 2329. The project blended live orchestra, jazz instrumentation, and analog synthesizers into a distinctive fusion of film-

noir and sci-fi textures, and the game was released in July 2024. Mikolai has since completed work on the highly anticipated AAA title The Dawn of Blood

Walker from Rebel Wolves, bringing a sweeping new musical world to life for the studio’s flagship release. He is currently composing the score for the feature animation Dreamworld, starring Mads Mikkelsen—his third animated feature and his most

ambitious yet.
