


Matt Hutchinson

Matt Hutchinson is an award-winning Los Angeles-based composer and songwriter for film, television, and advertising. His particular love for dark, moody, and emotional projects draws from a wide array of influences including Thomas Newman, Howard Shore, Trent Reznor, Neko Case, Soundgarden, Mother Love Bone, and Tool.
Hutchinson’s music can be heard in numerous film and TV projects, including CBS’s All Rise, NBC’s The Mysteries of Laura, Hulu’s Castle Rock, ABC’s The Fix, and the NBCUniversal horror feature Ma starring Octavia Spencer, among others. He has also collaborated as a songwriter and producer with artists including Kevin Martin (Candlebox), Rock and Roll Hall of Fame drummer Dave Krusen (Pearl Jam), and Robin Diaz (Daughtry).
Hutchinson co-wrote and produced the single “You’ll Be King” with American Idol top-ten finalist Pia Toscano, which was featured in the Netflix docu-series Westside, and has performed live at venues including LA’s Viper Room with Tommy Black (Wildabouts) and Matt Fuller (Puddle of Mudd). He also writes and records music with his studio band, DORMARION, alongside frequent collaborators Kevin Martin, Dave Krusen, and Candlebox bassist Adam Kury. His original songs have been used in the hit Showtime series Shameless and for trailers and promos for Showtime’s Ray Donovan.
Other film and TV credits include the Nature/PBS documentary The Sagebrush Sea, TNT’s Emmy-nominated main title sequence for The Grid, and Butterflies starring John Malkovich, which was featured at the Cannes Film Festival.
