Lucas Lechowski

Composer

Composing music has always been an integral part of Lucas Lechowski’s life, shaping his identity as a musician, artist, and storyteller. His passion for composition led him into the world of theatre and film, where he has scored over 50 projects, spanning feature films, television series, documentaries, and theatre productions.


His recent works include The Performance, directed by Shira Piven, Twelve Desperate Hours, directed by Gina Gershon, Giannis: The Marvelous Journey, and the mini-series Full Court Press, directed by Kristen Lappas. He also composed the score for a two-hour NBC special, hosted by Tom Brokaw, commemorating the 50th anniversary of President John F. Kennedy’s assassination.


Lechowski has embraced cutting-edge mediums, composing for Virtual Reality experiences such as In The Cloud for Sony Music and Love Seat, which premiered at the Venice Biennale. His work in short films has received critical acclaim, with three projects earning Student Academy Award nominations, including one win. His compositions have been showcased at major film festivals worldwide, including Venice, Sundance, SXSW, Tribeca, and Austin.


In addition to his film and theatre work, Lechowski’s original music has been released on several albums and featured in the classical compilation series Millennial Masters. He was also commissioned to create music for a permanent modern art installation at the Baltimore Museum of Art, further solidifying his versatility as a composer.


Lechowski’s musical journey began at the age of four, when he displayed exceptional talent as a violinist, quickly establishing a foundation in classical music. He later graduated from the renowned Conservatory of Music in Katowice, Poland, earning:

  • M.A. in Jazz Violin Performance

  • B.A. in Classical Violin Performance

  • M.A. in Jazz Guitar Performance

His studies reflect his remarkable versatility across genres, seamlessly bridging the worlds of classical, jazz, and contemporary music.


Following his formal training, Lechowski toured extensively across Europe and the United States, performing with leading ensembles and symphony orchestras, including the prestigious Yehudi Menuhin Orchestra. His collaborations with masters across classical, chamber music, and jazz further honed his improvisational and compositional skills.


A Fellow of the Sundance Institute Composers Lab and a Berlinale Talents alumnus, Lechowski has participated in some of the world’s most prestigious film scoring workshops, including:

  • ASCAP/Columbia University Film Scoring Workshop

  • NYU/ASCAP Television & Film Scoring Workshop

  • Society of Composers and Lyricists Mentorship Program


Through his innovative compositions and artistic collaborations, Lucas Lechowski continues to push boundaries, crafting evocative music that enriches storytelling across diverse media.
